Will Xiaomi build its own charging stations on a large scale?

On August 22nd, during the "Lei Jun's Co pilot" Pearl River Delta Cruise Live Event held at noon 22nd, Lei Jun, the founder, chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, stated that although Xiaomi has established some charging stations, there are currently no plans for large-scale construction.

He pointed out that Xiaomi's current top priority is to focus on automobile manufacturing and strive to make the Xiaomi SU7 the electric vehicle with the best compatibility and convenience with public charging stations. Lei Jun believes that the current number of public charging stations is sufficient. Xiaomi has tested 70000 public charging stations and improved hundreds of issues, significantly enhancing the compatibility and convenience of charging stations. In March of this year, Lei Jun announced at Xiaomi Auto's press conference that Xiaomi Auto is building its own supercharging network (note: the first batch will be gradually promoted in cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, and Hangzhou), using a 600kW liquid cooled supercharging solution.

In addition to public charging stations, Xiaomi has also launched home charging stations, claiming to be "one click open cover, plug and charge", and supporting OTA upgrades. The 7kW charging power version costs 3999 yuan, and the 11kW charging power version costs 5999 yuan. According to Xiaomi's official introduction, the Xiaomi SU7 has been continuously charged more than 70000 times during this pre-test, and has gradually optimized over 500 charging compatibility issues with different manufacturers. It claims to have tested over 200 different models of charging stations, totaling 18900 units, and has achieved compatibility with more than 99% of third-party charging stations.
